music.

what is music? music is what speaks when words fail.

i just wanted to express my appreciation for music.

when you listen to a song, does it bring you back to a certain time or a certain place? or does it remind you of who you were with and what you were doing? i've got sooo many of those. songs that just take you back.

-when i listen to real good time by aaron carter, it reminds me of when i was like 10. i would listen to that song and say "if i ever made a really famous movie, i'd put this song in it for sure."

-sway your head by we shot the moon reminds me of the end of senior year.

-when i listen to if i were a boy by beyonce, it reminds me of a time i was at work with madi, and she was reading me texts from a boy who i liked at the time. and he was being a complete a-hole. then she showed me that song.

-when i listen to run it by chris brown, it reminds me of dance and drill.

-get silly by soulja boy reminds me of a road trip to arizona with marina.

-gotta go my own way from the high school musical 2 soundtrack reminds me of summer 07.

-when i hear echo by gorilla zoe, it totally reminds me of the sadie hawkins dance last year.

-boys with girlfriends by meiko reminds me of a guy i would talk to allll the time, but he had a girlfriend. and then they broke up :)

-hollywood undead reminds me of the sunshine tournament 09.

-go to church by ice cube and snoop dogg reminds me of sophomore year, driving around with a bunch of random people.

-john mayer, jack's mannequin, damien rice, and superchick remind me of a boy who is on a mission right now.

-when i hear kids of the future by the jonas brothers, it reminds me of my very first jonas concert. it makes me excited every time i hear it.

-hey juliet by LMNT reminds me of the time i entered a radio disney contest to meet khleo thomas from holes. :)

-when i listen to lollipop by lil wayne, it reminds me of summer 08. the greatest summer evvver.

-yes by LMFAO reminds me of homecoming senior year. when i was singing all the words wrong.

-when i listen to vanilla twilight by owl city, it reminds me of another jerk-boy.

-bounce in california takes me back to a very... interesting summer night when i had that as my ringtone. haha.

-dancing queen reminds me of all my disco skating adventures.

wow, sorry to go on and on and on. i didn't think i'd post that many songs haha. lately i've just been thinking about how there is a story with almost every song.

it's soo tight how music can do that!

i was so excited last night when grease was on tv.

i'm so knee deep in love with this movie. haha. it makes me wish so badly that i could go back in time and live in the 70's for a while.

as for john travolta... ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh baby. too bad he's like 60 now.

so strange.

i have a weird, random pulse on the side of my big toe. i didn't hit it or anything. and it keeps pulsing! i don't know what's going on, but it's freaking me out. haha. anywho, i'm on a school computer and i gotta go to math now (to learn some equations that i will never, i repeat NEVER, use in my lifetime).

p.s. soo excited for american idol tonight. joe jonas is the guest judge :) ahhh.

wonderful weekend.

i was gonna post on sunday, but i was too tired. so then i was gonna post monday, but after a day of school and then going straight to work, i was also too tired. so here i am posting now :)

it was such a fun weekend.

we drove to st george, and headed straight to the nevershoutnever concert.

so much fun. we brought the sign i made for my first nevershoutnever concert back in 2008. when we held it up, i don't think he remembered it. but he still acknowledged us :)

planet earth turns slowwwwly.

me and my brother downloaded an autotune program last night.

so. much. fun.

it actually even sounds a little bit like fireflies at about 2:29-ish. :)

mtv premiere night.

last night i watched the first episode of the buried life.

it is sooo good. if you haven't heard of it, its about 4 guys who set off to accomplish their list of 100 things to do before they die. and everytime they cross off something on their list, they help a stranger accomplish a goal. it's seriously so good, and i can't wait for next week's episode :)

after the buried life got over, another new show came on called my life as liz. i wasn't gonna watch it, because i thought "ohh, its just another fake reality show." but i ended up watching it for an hour.

i actually really enjoyed this show! you can definitely tell that it's all acting, but it totally describes how judgmental some people are. if you're not a rich, blonde, skinny barbie doll then you're not considered pretty. which is ridiculous in my opinion, because i thought liz was prettier than a lot of the other girls on the show. i totally want her to end up with the boy in the second episode :) haha. i'm dragging this on too long.

p.s. i bought some pink lipstick today.

a boy in my reporting class put this on his blog and i totally loved it. so here i am, sharing it with you! haha.

i know not every band in the USA is like this. but there are a lot. and i know the feeling where you're at a concert and nobody's even listening to the unknown band on stage, who has really good music, until they start playing a popular song (example: party in the USA).

bittersweet.

this weekend has been a real eye opener for me. after watching stories about things going on in haiti, with the earthquake and all, it's made me realize something. shiz happens. all the time. seriously, most people can't go a week (maybe even a day) without something crappy happening. life is full of completely horrible things and it sucks. i don't know how else to put it. life just sucks.

don't get me wrong, i'm not being a negative nelly. i'm just putting the truth out there. another fact is that a lot of great things happen in life too. most people can't go a week (maybe even a day) without something amazing happening.

gotta love this confusing life, right?

but as i was saying, haiti is having a really hard time right now.

i just recently learned that blogging is a big part of journalism. in my media reporting class we've been learning a lot about how blogs are used for news reports and forecasts. it's awesome! we were asked to create a blog so we can review news stories every week. i was so excited because i'm already a blogger! :)

anyyywhooo. today i've been listening to "let's live for today" by the grass roots. i've listened to it about 900 times.

i am soooo excited for american idol tonight.

its gonna be weird with ellen degeneres taking over paula's place though. and next year it will suck with simon gone. they'll probably cancel it next year. anywho, i'm really stoked for this season =)

reminisce on memories.

a few nights ago, madi and i were looking through one of my drawers filled with lots of old stuff. after reading my old song book (full of super lame, funny songs), we found some freaking funny pictures!

first day of school, first day of school!

today was my first day of college. oh gosh, i was terrified. it reminded me of my first day of high school. but worse.

differences between college and high school:

1) college campus is probably 50 times bigger than my high school campus was.

2) in high school i didn't have to take a bus to get from my first class to my second class.

3) in high school if you see a cute guy, you just talk to him. in college if you see a cute guy, you go to talk to him and then see a wedding ring on his finger.

4) college books are 100 times more expensive than high school books.

5) most college teachers don't care if you're there on time.

all in all; it was a confusing day, but i am looking forward to this fresh new start.

-and learn many new things.

and if i don't, well, at least i can say that i tried :)

i just wanted to give a shout out to some really good movies i've seen in the past couple months.

well, i'm 2 days late. but HAPPY NEW YEARS!

new years was interesting this year. me and my girlfrans got all ready, took some five hour energy drinks, and went to a dance party. and even though there was a point when things got kinda crappy, i would still consider it a grand ol' night. some very random things happened haha. dani, madi, and myself are now officially blood sisters. hahaha.

also, allred showed up at the dance party, and we were very excited!

we also got our groove on, and sang a song to all the boys who have been jerks in our lifetime. haha.

well, i'm in the process of making a list of new years resolutions. when its finished i'll probably post some of them on here.
